Support the 2025 Husky Fund – One Campaign, One Goal, Big Impact
At Summit Hill Elementary, we don’t ask you to sell cookie dough or wrapping paper. Instead, we focus on one major fundraising effort each year: The Husky Fund.
This is a one-time-only campaign—we won’t come back asking for more throughout the year. That means no additional asks, no small sales, just one focused opportunity to make a lasting difference in your child’s education.
Why Give?
Your donation to the Husky Fund directly supports programs and resources not covered by the Fulton County budget, including:
-
Innovative educational programs and curriculum enhancements
-
Technology, classroom materials, and capital improvements
-
Staff development and faculty support
These funds empower our students and educators to reach the highest levels of academic and social success. Thanks in part to the generosity and engagement of our community, Summit Hill was named a 2024 Blue Ribbon School of Excellence—a reflection of your ongoing support. Please continue reading further down the page for more on how your donation makes a big difference.

*We have a few other fundraisers throughout the year, which account for less than 10% of the funds raised to support Summit Hill. These are Bingo & Baskets (free to attend and play bingo but raffle tickets for baskets are not included), restaurant Spirit Nights, and a Winter/Spring Soiree, which is an adult only ticketed event that includes a silent auction.

Programs and Curriculum Support
The financial support provided by the Husky Fund creates numerous opportunities to enhance our curriculum and learning environment. In previous years, we have proudly funded Write Score learning assessments and Orton-Gillingham training to support literacy development. A perennial favorite among students, teachers, and parent volunteers is the hands-on STEM learning facilitated through our Discovery Lab. In addition to academic enrichment, the PTO also funds and supports our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Program, reinforcing a positive school culture. This year, the funds we raise will allow us to further enrich our students' experiences by purchasing additional materials for our specials classes and launching an exciting new "Visiting Author" series in our media center.
Teacher and Community Support
The PTO is proud to support our incredible teachers and staff in meaningful and impactful ways. This year, we increased our classroom startup funds from $300 to $400 per teacher, helping to offset the personal costs of preparing classrooms for a successful school year. We also offer $20,000 in mini-grant opportunities to support innovative projects, professional development, and classroom needs. This year, we took our support even further by “clearing the list” for our teachers as part of the mini-grant initiative—going above and beyond the $400 startup funds to ensure every classroom is fully equipped.
In addition, the PTO funds and organizes Teacher Appreciation Week, monthly staff hospitality events and meals, and provides meals for Milton PD officers and community members who support our school. The feedback we consistently hear from our teachers and staff is how valued and appreciated they feel thanks to the generosity of our school community. We truly have the best educators and staff, and through these efforts, we hope they always know just how much they mean to us.
Campus Support
In addition to funding curriculum, programs, events, and teacher support, your Husky Fund donations make it possible to complete impactful projects that fall outside the scope of the county budget. These are the kinds of enhancements that significantly improve the daily experience at Summit Hill—and they happen only because of the generosity of our school community.
Past projects funded by the Husky Fund include:
- A full-length awning over the carpool lane, keeping students and staff dry on rainy days
- “Home of the Huskies” privacy mesh fencing around the playground for added safety
- Shade structures and additional seating on the playground
- Lightweight risers for musical performances
- Our digital monument sign at the school entrance
- Beautiful murals in the media center to inspire a love of reading and learning
This year, your Husky Fund contributions will support even more lasting improvements, including:
- Additional murals in the media center
- Upgrades to the stage lighting and sound system for performances and assemblies
- New recess equipment and storage solutions for recess, PE, and club materials
- Bathroom dividers in the 2nd–5th grade boys’ restrooms
These capital investments enhance the safety, functionality, and spirit of our school. With your continued support, we’re building a better Summit Hill—together.
Events and Extras
At Summit Hill, we believe that strong connections between students, families, and staff are what make our school truly special. That’s why the PTO works hard all year to host a variety of schoolwide events that bring our community together outside the classroom.
In addition, the PTO:
-
Designs and sells our yearbook and spirit wear
-
Organizes Spirit Nights at local restaurants
-
Coordinates many of the "extras" that make SHE feel like home
Thanks to your support of the Husky Fund, we’ve been able to make all PTO-sponsored family events completely free—so every family can join in the fun, regardless of cost.
This year, your donations will also allow us to:
-
Provide every student and teacher with an official SHE t-shirt to wear on field trips, spirit days, and Field Day
-
Fund one additional field trip per grade level, giving our students more opportunities to learn, grow, and explore outside the classroom
💙 By giving to the Husky Fund, you help create memories, deepen school spirit, and open the door to more enriching experiences for every child at Summit Hill. Please consider making a donation today—your support matters more than ever.
