The Husky Fund

Support the 2025 Husky Fund – One Campaign, One Goal, Big Impact

At Summit Hill Elementary, we don’t ask you to sell cookie dough or wrapping paper. Instead, we focus on one major fundraising effort each year: The Husky Fund.

This is a one-time-only campaign—we won’t come back asking for more throughout the year. That means no additional asks, no small sales, just one focused opportunity to make a lasting difference in your child’s education.

Why Give?

Your donation to the Husky Fund directly supports programs and resources not covered by the Fulton County budget, including:

  • Innovative educational programs and curriculum enhancements

  • Technology, classroom materials, and capital improvements

  • Staff development and faculty support

These funds empower our students and educators to reach the highest levels of academic and social success. Thanks in part to the generosity and engagement of our community, Summit Hill was named a 2024 Blue Ribbon School of Excellence—a reflection of your ongoing support. Please continue reading further down the page for more on how your donation makes a big difference.

Programs and Curriculum Support

The financial support from the Husky Fund provides many opportunities for additional curriculum support tools and trainings, including Write Score learning assessments, Orton-Gillingham training, hands-on STEM learning through our Discovery Lab, and more. The PTO also funds and supports our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Program.  This year, the funds we raise will allow us to purchase additional materials for specials classes and fund a "Visiting Author" series for our media specials classes.

Teacher and Community Support

The PTO provides $400 per teacher (up from $300 in the past) for classroom startup funds, $20,000 in mini-grants opportunities for teachers and staff, execution and funding of Teacher Appreciation Week, monthly staff hospitality functions and meals, and meals for Milton PD officers and community members that assist our school.  This support means our teachers are able to purchase additional items for their classrooms and attend specialized trainings without coming out of their own pockets.  This year, we plan to "clear the list" for teachers as part of our mini grant initiative to go above and beyond the $400 start-up funds.  The feedback we consistently receive from our teachers and staff is how loved they feel and how much they appreciate this support provided by the PTO through our families. We have the best teachers and staff, and we want them to know how much we value them!

Campus Support

In addition to funding curriculum, programs, events and teacher support, your Husky Fund donations have funded a brand new awning that covers the entire carpool lane, so every teacher and every student is covered during morning and afternoon carpool. We also added HOME OF THE HUSKIES privacy mesh fencing around the perimeter of the playground area.  Both of these additions were part of the school safety updates that would not have otherwise been possible without the generosity of our community.  Other capital investments include shade structures and additional seating on the playground, lightweight risers for musical performances, our digital monument sign, and murals in the media center.  This year, your Husky Fund dollars will go to installing dividers in the 2nd to 5th grade boys' bathrooms, adding another mural to the media center, upgrading our sound system and lighting for our stage performances and assemblies, buying additional equipment for recess, and purchasing storage solutions for recess, PE, and club materials.

Events and Extras

The PTO works hard to host a variety of schoolwide events throughout the year for students, staff, and families to connect outside of the school day. Additionally, the PTO puts forth effort into designing and selling yearbooks and spirit wear, hosting Spirit Nights at local restaurants, and doing beautification projects around campus. Thanks to your Husky Fund contributions, we have made all PTO sponsored events free of charge for all families. This year, the PTO will be providing every student and teacher with an "official" SHE t-shirt to be worn on field trips, for spirit days, and at Field Day.  Money raised through The Husky Fund will also allow us to provide one additional field trip per grade level, so that our students will have the opportunity to go on two field trips this year at no cost to our families.
